A WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS
A Way of Looking at Things, by Swiss Architect Peter Zumthor, is a text extract from Architecture and Urbanism, an architectural magazine. It discusses the authors thoughts on architecture as well as various topics that they feel connect with architecture and their own life.
In order to show this deeper connection that architecture had in Zumthor’s world, a theme of music was chosen to be present throughout the short book. As Peter Zumthor compared music to architecture in this text. This is shown in several ways, with one being flowing lines from page to page. In a similar way to which music flows.

This book was bound using French fold binding as the amount of pages meant that this method was the most suitable. With a softcover encasing these inside pages. To ensure that the binding method would work thin 120gsm paper was utilised for the inside pages. For the softcover a thicker paper was chosen to better protect the rest of the book.
Due to the architectural style, as well as nationality, of Peter Zumthor the chosen typeface for this project was Helvetica Neue. This matching the context of the book and the author at the same time.
